T-MELMAX Sdn Bhd, an MSC-status company, aims to capture 5 per cent market share of the 500,000 registered small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for its latest e-payment product, the MaxPaygate Link for Microsoft Excel (MXL).

Chief executive officer Abdul Mushir Che Chik said the product is a plug-in that runs on Microsoft Excel 2007 and enables companies to easily make payments for their staff salaries, statutory payments and supplier payments to banks via the Internet.

"Most SMEs are familiar with Microsoft Windows and Excel, so developing an e-payment solution makes a lot of business sense to our customers," he said at the launch of MXL in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Customers can download the plug-in from the company's website for free. An annual subscription fee of RM99 is charged and each transaction costs RM1.
